PLAYLIST TRADITIONS FEBRUARY 21, 2010

Week 3 of fundraising February---the one month in the year that we come to you for financial support for the program and for the station. To repeat---1 time a year only. THere will no more fund raising until next year----unlike many other stations.

Thanks to all of you who pledged to the show----many names we have happily come to know over the years--and some most welcome newcomers. As our final week approaches for this effort--one which also decides what programming stays, what program moves or goes away all together--I sincerely hope you who have not, as yet, pledged support to either TRADITIONS or SUNDAY SIMCHA will see your way clear to do so in the final week---OR--you may also pledge

via e mail: TRADITIONS wfdutraditions@yahoo.com (Your weekly personal folk fest)

SUNDAY SIMCHA sundaysimcha@yahoo.com (Keeping Yiddishkeit on the air)

Just send your name, address, phone number and amount of pledge and the station will contact you. Your information will not be used for anything other than to send you a pledge packet and also to send you your premiums---CDs (the list is on the Progam Notes Page), Bumper Stickers (everyone gets one), and all pledges over 20.00 will recieve the next issue of Sing Out Magazine

While there are no playlists for Sunday Simcha this month the TRADITIONS one is below---along with a few pictures----

PLAYLIST TRADITIONS FEBRUARY 14, 2010

Week 2 of our annual fund raising drive for WFDU and showing listener support for TRADITIONS and SUNDAY SIMCHA. Many thanks to the very generous pledgers and for the nice comments and chats we had on the phone this past Sunday and, of course, high hopes for next week as well. Since there will not be any playlists for SUNDAY SIMCHA this month let us see a video of one of the artists you heard this week---and was requested as a premium---and also to go with the TRADITIONS Playlist a video to put with one of the voices this week----
and a future return guest to the program in the near future when we talk of her latest achievement and creation.

One last thing---check on the right side of the page. Some more links of interest have been added and also to which of the 2 programs the links refer---some to both. That is Websurfing 101 made easy. Watch out for the big waves in your surfing---need you safe and sound to stay tuned.

DADDO---THE LADINO VOICE

CHRISTINE LAVIN and if you look closely you might recognize some folks in the audience at this house concert---the lady handing out cookies is the artist that did the art for the book Amoeba Hop.

PLAYLIST TRADITIONS FEBRUARY 7, 2010

Today's program was hosted by both Ron Olesko and myself in keeping with our usual practice during the one month a year we come to you with a request for financial support to both the program and WFDU---no more pitching here other than to say that our great thanks to those of you who pledged yesterday and our hope that more of you who listen and find the program a part of your Sundays and your lives will also want to feel like a member of our "family" by supporting it---and allowing the station to know that the program is one that is wanted by the listenership.
Obviously we spent a lot of time talking and less time with music this week and also did more of a potpourri to give you an idea of the diversity of what the program is all about.

Should you want to pledge here on line just send an e mail to wfdutraditions@yahoo.com with your name, address, phone # and, you will rcve. premiums as listed on the Program Notes Page.

We will forgo the pictures this week but we do have the playlist for yesterday---and don't forget the program is archived for 2 weeks at www.wfdu.fm

One other thought we had pledgers from Westchester, Bergen County, NYC, Los Angeles (web listeners---you too can tune in there), and Brooklyn. So--let's hear now from Rockland, Long Island (or is Lung Ayland), and the rest of the universe.

PLAYLIST SUNDAY SIMCHA FEBRUARY 7, 2010

Since you all realize this is our annual fund raising month it was hard to put a play list together. Those of you who were tuned in know that I honored a few requests---played some of our comedy material and also had a wonderful and talented staff member in the studio to help me and for your pleasure have him present some of his own great talent to you---his name, by the way, is Ghosty. You may know him better as Tony Soprano after yesterday's program.

I want to thank all of you who so generously pledged to the program and I hope more of you will until our fund raiser is over---just 3 more programs to do that in---OR--you can pledge by e mailing me at sundaysimcha@yahoo.com . Just send a mailing address for your premiums, a phone # in case we have to reach you (mailing problem or such---nothing else), and your name.

The premiums are listed on the Program Notes Page and we have many interesting ones. The schedule of CDs and pledge amounts are listed there as well.

Again---the slogan--and your help will do it---Keep Yiddishkeit On The Air.

Don't forget the programs are now archived for 2 weeks at www.wfdu.fm
