A Correction---on today's program I spoke of Yaphet Kotto's family being from Uganda (he was born in NYC) but, in fact, his family was from an Orthodox family (and heirs to the throne) in Cameroon.

My thanks for the nice comments and Facebook postings about today's program.  Let me also throw out a request for one of the mainstays of our program---Susan Colin. Should anyone know of a Shul that needs a Cantor (substitute, alternate, or whatever term is used) for this year's High Holy Days please contact me so I can pass the information on to this brilliant and most musical artist---and Cantor.

For the next 3 weeks we will forego---I believe, at this point,--- the playlists due to the annual fund raising efforts for WFDU---the only station keeping YIDDISHKEIT ON THE AIR.   Your help is needed---call (I will be in live to talk with you), e mail--you know the address--or go to the http://www.wfdu.fm/ and follow the prompts.  We need your help to keep us on and you need your help because commercial free stations rely on listeners---and who else but you will keep that slogan valid (above)---no one but WFDU as long as they know it is viable.

A spelling comment---all  spelling in the playlist is from the liner notes from the artists.  I know some seem unusual.
