Some comments on today's program that you might have missed in the commentary and the playlist cannot represent (even though it will be broken down into segments).
1) We started with Work O The Weavers due to the wonderful concert they gave last week under the auspices of the Borderline Folk Music Club . A memorable event that you can re-visit on Facebook now and, for those who told me they wish they had known about it---try tuning in to TRADITIONS---you will know these things. I doubt that this is reaching outside the flock.
2) Birthday wishes (good ones) to Pete Seeger and Jon Stein---May 3
3) There is a song called "Everything Old Is New Again". So true. For that reason I try to feature some recordings of a while back since if we loved them then---why not now. We, as I said on the program, appreciate hearing Mozart, Beethoven, and that gang (who I love) so why not some of the creative folks in this genre.
4) My thanks once again to all the folks who have called, requested things, and commented kindly on the program.
Now---some faces to put with today's voices--
A wonderful explanation of the group that I featured and also, happily, introduced last week in a wonderful concert under the auspices of the Borderline Folk Music Club---and, once again, happily, I have known them from the start thanks to David Bernz.
This is an amazing video of the music from this brilliant work by Phillip Bimstein (who has been on the show---my honor)---The Boy Who Never Saw A Train was part of that wonderful Zion Song Cycle. HINT---if you want to hear more on the program---send a request.
